Halloumi Burger

Halloumi burger

Vegetarians love burgers too and who wouldn’t love this take on a BBQ classic. We’ve marinaded succulent halloumi overnight in a coating of our Egyptian Black Seed Honey; this enables the sweetness to seep in while leaving a crispy coat of seeds. This unusual texture adds to the enjoyment of this burger filling. Enjoy!

Serves: 2 | Prep time: 15-20 min | Cooking time: 15 min


  • 1 block of halloumi (225g)
  • 2 tbsp of Honey Heaven black seeds set honey
  • 1/3 cucumber
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1/2 cup of green or other plain yoghurt
  • Handful of chopped mint
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 burger buns


  • Cut halloumi in 2-3 large slices. Lightly melt honey heaven set honey and brush on the halloumi’s slices, set aside and let marinade for 15-20 min or overnight
  • Prepare your yoghurt mint dressing by mixing lemon, yoghurt, mint and salt
  • Make ribbons out from your cucumber, toast your bread, and slice your red onion.
  • Grill halloumi slices. Assemble your burger by spreading some of the mint dressing at the bottom and adding grilled halloumi, cucumber and red onion.
  • Layer the pancakes with yoghurt and finish with peanut butter, strawberries and honey.
