Minced Pies

Nothing says Christmas like a minced pie, but these little morsels of delight are extra special thanks to the Honey Heaven Winter Spice Honey used for the base and into which all the fruits and nuts are mixed. The cinnamon, cloves, ginger and other festive spices in the honey subtly flavour the mixture conjuring up images of crackling fires, Christmas trees and carolling. Ho ho ho!

Serves: 8-10 | Prep time: 15 min | Cooking time: 25 min

Ingredients:

• 375g shortcrust pastry roll
• 2 large Gala apples chopped
• 2 tbsp of Honey Heaven Winterspice set honey
• Peel of one orange
• Juice of 1/2 orange
• 1/3 cup of sultanas

Procedure:

• Melt honey in a pan, add chopped apple, sultanas and orange peel, orange juice.
• Cook until apple is soft and juices have been reduced
• Cut 8-10 circles and stars on the pastry sheet. Place the circles as a basket on a cupcake tin.
• Fill with the apple mix and place a star in the top.
• Bake for 15-20 min at 180C.
