Melt a teaspoon of Ceylon Cinnamon and Organic Honey in lukewarm water or green tea! This will create a wonderfully delicious and soothing drink. It can also be applied topically to the skin as a face mask.
Cinnamon is a spice that derives from the bark of the Cinnamomum tree. The bark is harvest, then dried. This then produces curls, which are commonly known and recognised as cinnamon sticks. This spice can be purchased as whole sticks, an extract or ground. Cinnamon is a very healthy and popular used spice that is used not only in cooking and baking but can also be taken as a supplement. Ceylon cinnamon is harder to find than its alternative Cassia cinnamon and is slightly sweeter.
Cassia Cinnamon comes from the Cinnamomum cassia tree, also called Cinnamomum aromaticum. Cassia cinnamon is considered lower quality. It is very cheap and is the type most commonly consumed around the world. Almost all cinnamon found in supermarkets is the cassia variety.
Ceylon Cinnamon, or "true cinnamon" instead, is made from the inner bark of the Cinnamomum verum tree. Ceylon cinnamon is less common and quite expensive compared to the more common cassia variety.
