What’s the difference between CBG Oil and CBD Oil?

CBG / Cannabigerol like CBD / THC, is a cannabinoid being one of many chemicals found in cannabis plants. CBG is often referred to as the ‘mother’ of cannabinoids because it’s the precursor from which all other cannabinoids, including CBD and THC, are created. What is the difference between CBD and THC? CBD oil comes from the flowers of the cannabis plant and does not contain the psychoactive substance THC. Cannabis oil comes from the leaves, flowers and stalks of the cannabis plant. It can be sold in the UK as a food supplement but not as a medicine.

Fully developed plants with high concentrations of THC and CBD, will contain very low concentrations of CBG because most of the CBG has been converted to CBD and THC as the plant develops. CBG is always derived from young cannabis plants due to containing much higher amounts of CBG than fully developed plants.

How does CBG work?

Human bodies have an endocannabinoid system which is made up of molecules and receptors. There are two types of cannabinoid receptors—CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are found in the nervous system and brain, while CB2 receptors are located in the immune system and other areas. CBG imitates endocannabinoids, which are the natural compounds our body makes, keeping us in an optimal state.

CBG products bind to CB1 and CB2 receptors where it’s thought to strengthen the function of anandamide, a neurotransmitter which play a role in regulating appetite and sleep, enhancing pleasure and motivation, and aiding alleviating pain.

Where several different compounds work together to achieve an effect, this interaction process is known as the ‘entourage effect’. It would be impossible for these compounds to achieve this on their own, thus imparting maximum benefits to users.

The benefits of CBD oil have been well documented and include:

• Stress - CBD oil has shown promise as a treatment for some mental health disorders, such as anxiety disorders. A couple of drops of CBD oil will ease the symptoms of stress or anxiety.
• Insomnia - If you have difficulty falling asleep, and staying asleep, you can lose motivation and become irritable. Regular administration of CBD can help with managing insomnia if you take a recommended dose shortly before bed.
• Pain relief - Studies have shown that CBD may help reduce chronic pain by affecting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation, and interacting with neurotransmitters. Studies have also shown CBD can be an effective in treating arthritis, rheumatism, migraines and other pains in the body.

• Inflammatory bowel disease – CBG seems to reduce the inflammation associated with this illness.
• Skin care – CBG has three major benefits to the skin – it is highly anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant. Once CBG enters the epidermis (skin), it penetrates to the basal and subcutaneous layers where it helps calm inflammation, reduces blemishes, purifies pores, balances sebum (oil) production and assists with cellular turnover.
• Glaucoma – CBG appears to reduce intraocular pressure and so could be effective in treating glaucoma.
• Huntingdon’s disease – CBG might have neuroprotective properties that could help treat Huntingdon’s disease.
• Bladder dysfunctions – CBG appears to affect bladder contractions which shows promise at treating bladder dysfunctions.
• Cancer – there is some evidence that CBG might reduce the growth of cancer cells and other tumours.
• Appetite loss – it is thought that CBG could stimulate the appetite which could be useful in conditions such as cancer or HIV where appetite loss is common.

Using CBG/CBD Extract

Preparation is not needed before use of Honey Heaven’s Full Spectrum Organic CBG / CBD. Each. We advise that you start with a lower strength CBG / CBD oil and gradually increase to high strength CBG / CBD oil, if necessary, because person’s biochemistry reacts differently.

Make sure you shake well before use. Place 1-2 drops under the tongue, keeping in the mouth for 1 minute, or put it onto the surface of food, twice a day.

For better absorption and to help with the taste, drink water afterwards. Not for use by under 18s. do not exceed 70mg per day, and not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
